Nick Tasker – Webmaster & Council Member

Nick started performing on the local stage in amateur dramatics, but soon found that puppetry was able to combine his love of performing with his love of making things. By 1988, he had formed ‘Primary Puppets’ and he enjoys developing shows as much as performing and teaching workshops. In 2015, Nick was a finalist in the Times Education Supplement Teacher of the Year awards. Nick trained in Clowning and Mime before working with Paul Doran at the Shadowstring Puppet Theatre, in Somerset. He enjoys designing portable puppet stages for all types of puppets. He is well known for his colourful shadow puppets, and his knock about glove puppet shows and delicate string marionette performances. Nick currently looks after the Guild website and his TV credits include a series on Channel 4 schools programming.
